Social Spotlight: All Hail Quiz Clothing Hull!

If someone had told me a week ago that I’d know the staff at Quiz’s Hull branch by name, I’d have said…yeah, sounds like me.

Disappearing down another TikTok rabbit hole, we discovered a retail revelation in the form of women’s fashion brand Quiz.

As someone who spent many years working in retail, I want to take a moment to commend Quiz for surviving a harsh retail landscape.

Three retailers I worked for are no longer high street fixtures (a minute’s silence for Topshop, Past Times and West One), so raising those shutters every morning is no mean feat.

We’re used to brands on social, but not many have the confidence and trust in their staff to record and publish content from the shop floor.

A quick search for Quiz Clothing on TikTok, and you’ll see an extensive list of stores, each with its own account and take on the latest trends and making waves across the platform.

Our deep-dive suggests every store has guidance on what needs to be promoted and how, but each has its own distinct personality and features staff showcasing new garments and accessories in a flurry of sparkle, miming and leg flicks.

Hull (closely followed by Aberdeen) was our fave, thanks to the team’s commitment to posting fresh content, their inventive ways of showing off the stock and the ability to jump on TikTok trends.

Whether it’s store manager Sue Ellen sashaying in a sparkly number or Lisa’s top picks, we have to admit we’re obsessed.

Quiz may not be a brand that automatically springs to mind when you think of the British high street, but it’s making its presence known across the social platform of the moment, accessing new audiences, and hopefully ringing more party dresses through the till.

Here are just some of our fave moments.

We’ll be taking a closer look at a certain Wakefield wine shop…
